2018stereophonic sound, 6min 26sec
The sound of deep dark heart.
The idea of this work came from a story of Orpheus, one of the tragic figures in Greek mythology. Orpheus in the cave that is taking the soul of his beloved dead lover out of the underworld is escaping from the world of death that results in contemporary disputes, conflicts, divisions, wars, tragedies, and pain. I knew it would be the same as the minds of those who watched it. This work is a sound work of modifying the sound collected from the Akyarlar Beach in southern Turkey. I imagined the complex psychological situation of Orpheus coming out of the underworld.
깊고 어두운 마음의 소리.
이 작업의 아이디어는 그리스신화속 비극적 인물중 하나인 오르페우스의 한 이야기에서 비롯되었다. 지하세계에서 그의 사랑하는 죽은 애인의 영혼을 데리고 지상으로 빠져나오고있는 동굴 속 오르페우스의 상황이 현재 동시대적으로 발생하는 불화, 분쟁, 분열, 전쟁, 비극, 고통 등으로 귀결되는 죽음의 세계에서 탈출하고있거나, 이를 마음졸이게 지켜보는 이들의 마음과 동일할 것이리라 여겼다. 이 작업은 터키남부에 위치한 아키알라해변에서 채집한 사운드를 채집하여, 이를 변조한 사운드 작업이다. 사랑하는 영혼을 붙잡고 지상으로 빠져나오는 동굴속 오르페우스의 복잡한 심리적 상황(공포, 불안, 기대, 희망 등이 복합적 감정이 일렁이는 심리상황)을 상상하며 작업하였다.
